Training Groups

Towanda

One member described the group as a "gaggle of angry menopausal women". Another member disagreed. A cat fight broke out. Runs are irregularly scheduled and distances vary depending on their mood. Long slow runs are occasionally interrupted by hot flashes.

Chippewa Six Pack

Regular runs on Tuesday at 5:30 AM and Thursday at 5:15 AM from the parking lot at McDonnell High School in Chippewa Falls. There is always a weekend run from some coffee shop somewhere in Chippewa Falls, usually between 10 and 20 miles. Paces vary. Annual runs include the December Night Raid on the Christmas Village followed by a Christmas Party, and the Dunkin' in Duncan Creek (long, early morning run around the Fourth of July followed by beer and breakfast sitting in Duncan Creek). The famous "Red Dress Run" is reserved for less frequent, special occasions.

This legendary running group included Tom Clark, Bruce Freeland, and Mike Weiser. They liked to run early and also to party. They were known to require dues, and had their own Team Lead Butt Team T-shirts.
